A small group of founders, engineers, and city officials gather in a co-working space and ask: why doesn't a city this rich in manufacturing heritage have a startup culture to match? The conversation ends with a napkin manifesto.

Start Nuremberg e.V. Is Founded

The association is formally registered. Its mission: build infrastructure, network, and visibility for early-stage founders in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. First office — a 40 m² room borrowed from the Chamber of Commerce.

First Founders Meetup — 200 Attend

Expecting 40 people, the team opens the doors to a queue around the block. 200 founders, students, and investors crowd in — proof that startup energy had been waiting for a spark.

Launch of the First Accelerator Cohort

Ten startups enter twelve weeks of intensive mentorship, customer discovery workshops, and access to the region's industrial giants as pilot customers. Six go on to raise pre-seed rounds.

Hub Opens in the Old Industrial Quarter

A 1 200 m² hub opens inside a converted 19th-century factory in Nuremberg's Südstadt. Exposed brick, high ceilings, fibre broadband. Over 60 startups move in within the first three months.
